THE KING'S MACHINE FILM NIGHT AND SUPPER
A lovely evening was had by a group of 55 who attended a screening of the fascinating film, The King's Machine, after a hearty supper of homemade chilli , all to raise money for the Ripe Roof Appeal.
Filmmaker Philip Day from rural Kent, was joined by parishioner Tony Berryman, who collaborated with Philip to research and make the film which focuses on the lives of two young Spitfire pilots during WWII.
Also during the evening, the results were revealed of our silent auction where sealed bids were submitted by entrants for 4 x tickets in the Director's private box for Glyndebourne's presentation of La Nozze di Figaro and the chance to go backstage afterwards, kindly secured by Jules Crocker of our parish, and generously donated by the Christie Family. the tickets raised a further £1,201 which will go directly into the Ripe Roof Appeal.
We are incredibly grateful to all those who have given generously towards the appeal so far. Without you support we are unable to maintain our medieval churches sufficiently.

THE UPPER ROOM - THE LAST SUPPER
Storyteller, photographer and violin player, Christian Stejskal, had the audience rapt while narrating chapters 13-17 from the Gospel of John. A fascinating performance of words, music and pictures took place with low-lighting in Chalvington church, on a chilly Spring evening. It was wonderful.
BEAUTIFUL CHALVINGTON CHURCH
The beautiful St Bartholomew's at Chalvington, in night-time glory in March.
The church likely dates back to the 13th century, with the scattered village possibly existing since Roman times, and was mentioned in Pope Nicholas IV's Taxatio Ecclesiastica of 1291.

THE EASTER BUNNY VISITs RIPE
Children from all three villages in the parish were invited with their parents and grandparents, to take part in an Easter egg hunt in the beautiful surroundings of The Old Rectory gardens beside Ripe church. The adults enjoyed tea, coffee and cake while ten little ones raced around the garden finding clues and more importantly, choccie treats to help mark a very happy Easter Sunday.
If you would like your child or grandchild to take part, just email the Parish Administrator to book their place/s this year on Sunday 20 April.
